How many photos must I submit with my passport application?:
You must submit two (2) identical photographs with your passport application. The photos must be properly formatted and centered, and the staff at Hampton Photo Arts has extensive experience with these special types of photos.
What type of paper is required for passport photos?
All passport photos must be submitted on photo quality paper.
Can the photos be in black and white?
No. All passport photos must be in color.
How old can the photos be?
The photos must have been taken within the last six (6) months.
What sizes are acceptable?
All passport photos must measure exactly two (2) inches by two (2) inches.
What poses are acceptable?
The passport photo must show a clear frontal view of the subject, with the full face in view. No hats or dark glasses are allowed, and the photo must be taken against a plain white background. No out of focus or poor quality photos will be accepted.
Can eyeglasses be worn for the photo?
If you wear glasses on a daily basis, you can wear them for the passport photo. However, you must be sure that no glare from the eyeglasses obscures the clear view of your eyes.
Can the parent appear in the photo with the child?
No. Only the child may appear in the photograph.
Can I copy my driver’s license photo and use that for my passport?
No. Only an original photograph can be accepted for a passport application. No retouched, scanned or digitally enhanced photos are acceptable.
Are digital photos acceptable
Digital photos are acceptable, but only if they meet the quality and resolution requirements set forth in the passport rules. The photographic equipment used at Hampton Photo Arts meets these exacting standards, so you can be sure the photos you receive will be accepted.
